UPDATE 9/21/20: We’re open as of September 21st! We can’t wait to see you! Book online anytime. You can also read more about our COVID Safety changes and Polices.

8/20/20:

We miss you! We can see from the length of our reopening wait list for massage appointments that you can’t wait to return to Red Moon for massage therapy this summer. While massage therapy is part of phase 3 reopening for NY, we are taking a very carefully thought out approach to reopening because the safety of our clients, staff, and community is our first priority. For that reason, we have chosen to wait several weeks after the start of phase 3 in order to closely monitor the data with local transmission rates, while simultaneously working on detailed preparations for a safe reopening that includes:

  • limiting the number of appointments to allow for physical distancing, ventilation, and thorough disinfecting between appointments

  • universal mask wearing for all clients and staff

  • renovations to our space with a strong focus on superior ventilation with fresh outside air as well as medical grade HEPA filters in every room that will change the air 12-15 times per hour

  • Installation of touchless faucets and touchless soap in the bathroom as well as touchless hand sanitizer dispensers throughout our facility

  • Touchless checkout and payments

  • Ethically sourcing appropriate PPE for our staff

  • Transitioning to 100% paperless client intake forms and clinical note-taking software for our staff (as well as touchless checkout for clients)

  • Rigorous pre-screening all clients and staff before they enter our space

  • Numerous trainings for our staff including CDC and OSHA disinfecting guidelines as they apply to the massage therapy setting, donning and doffing PPE, as well as the latest clinical information on contraindications and precautions for massage therapy for individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 (this includes specific precautions for prenatal and postnatal massage during this time).

Before we reopen, we will share a detailed safety plan including our new policies, procedures, and what to expect during your appointment. We will meet and exceed NY State Phase 3 Reopening Guidelines, and are implementing industry-specific best practices as defined by the CDC, OSHA, Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, and Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. We have also developed a strong network of the most conscientious and ethical NYC-based massage therapy businesses committed to working together to implement the highest standards of care during this time for the safety of our clients, staff, and community.

While many things may look different in our “new normal,” what remains unchanged is our staff’s deep commitment to giving each client individualized, attentive care and highly skilled massage therapy for everything from therapeutic relaxation during these stressful times, to clinically focused work for chronic pain, injuries and postural imbalances, holistic bodywork during pregnancy and postpartum, and more.

We expect to re-open sometime in late August / early September, but safety and adequate preparation will guide our exact re-opening date, so stay tuned for that announcement. Once we are ready to begin booking appointments, we will first prioritize anyone whose appointment was cancelled back in March due to the closure, followed by our waiting list, and finally we will be reopening our online booking system as well as taking bookings over the phone. If you have a package or gift certificate, its expiration will automatically be extended by at least 6 months.

We will still be open 7 days per week from 9am - 9pm. We will not be able to accommodate walk-ins and we highly recommend booking in advance as there is high demand and limited capacity. Any same day bookings will need to be done over the phone in order to ensure adequate health screening, whereas advance bookings with more than 24 hours notice will be bookable online.

For any clients who are not ready to come back in person for massage therapy right away, we will still be offering virtual self-massage consultations to help you through this challenging time. Email office@redmoonwellness.com to inquire. In addition, our clinical herbal consultationschildbirth education classesnewborn care & breastfeeding classes, as well as private birth consultations will remain online for the time being.

Stay healthy and well!
